Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB) is the only national statutory department for examining and certifying all kinds of films for public exhibition. BFCB runs under the Ministry of Information of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. After being examined, BFCB provides license to the locally produced films for exhibition according to the Censorship of Films Act, 1963 (amended by President's Order No 41 of 1972). Bangladesh Film Censor Board is also liable to implement the Acts and Rules concerning to film Censors and Film Club. The Censor Board provides all kinds of assistance to the ‘Jury Board’ made by the Govt. to give National Film Award. BFCB is headed by a Chairman who is the Secretary of Ministry of Information, Government of Bangladesh.
