Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association is a voluntary and welfare association working especially for the Lawyers. The Association has extensive contribution for human being, democracy, and Law & Justice. Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association was formed in 1948 but it made inoperative in 1972. Subsequently, after the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, the Association was newly formed.
The Bar Association provides legal assistance to distressed people at free or nominal costs. Since its formation, Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association (BSCBA) has been speaking for true democracy, rule of law, amendment, and independence of Judiciary. In order to create strong relationship among the members, the Bar Association organizes social and cultural functions.
To apply for the membership of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association, one must have to get permission from Bangladesh Bar Council to do practice for one year in the High Court. Afterward the lawyer will have to face Viva Voce and will be selected for membership. There are two kinds of member in Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association: a) Regular b) Associate member. The member who takes oath for President, Minister, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Adviser or taken by Govt. for any post they will be the associate member.
